With Christ

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”   (Matthew 19:26)

” What ever struggle you are facing at the moment, however difficult life looks, however impossible the situation seems, it is important to remember his love for you and trust that ‘ with God all thing are possible'( Matthew 19:26)

The above except is from a devotional I read today by Nicky and Pippa Gumbel on the One Year Bible app. It was about ” With God all things are possible” .  The devotional is composed of readings from Old testament , New testament ,and a Proverbs or  Psalms. It’s arranged in a way so that one can read through the whole Bible in a year and get the wholistic “Big picture” of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ.

The devotional started off with a quote by Norman Vicent Peale  “ When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade,” from the book , The Power of Positive Thinking. But how do you make lemonade? Where do you get the sugar, and water from? Just positive thinking? It’s cool that the symbol for positive is a sign of a cross + …and to me Christ is the sugar, the Holy Spirit the water, and God the one that stirs to transform my life from one that is bitter, to something that is sweet.
Then I went to church , and Pastor John preached on ” Hearing God”  and came from  2 Chronicles 2:15  ” The Lord is with you when you are with him “ The bulk of the message came down to  private devotional time and setting aside time to hear from God. And he had the Become Shirt on! You know what that shirt means right? See the above illustration.

In the text of Matthew 19:16-30 a rich man turns away from Jesus because he loved his stuff more than he loved God. Jesus said it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven. Jesus disciples we’re astonished  like ” Then who can get to heaven” ? and Jesus replied ” With man, this is impossible but with God all things are possible”

It’s like trying to get to the moon in our own homemade spaceship… it ain’t going to fly . But when we are  in God’s spaceship  who  is  Christ, then we will make it, we will fly!

My whole 50 state tour was based around the idea that if I’m with God, then God is with me, therefore I have nothing to fear. My trip gave me time to reflect , and see God in His creation . I along with my brothers in Christ Lawrence and Seth had time to reflect on God’s goodness while traveling on the road.

So , through my pain, through my joy through everything … my Love and Devotion to God is the MOST important thing over everything! Only through the power of God can I do the work God has called me to.  When I ‘m in God’s presence all that I need to know, and the meaning of life is revealed.
