None Righteous

No one is righteous (Romans 3:10), we all have fallen short of God’s glorious standard (v 23), we all like sheep have gone astray (Isaiah 53:6), and only Christ will get us back on track (v 5).

There was a man who planned to build an interior wall without any knowledge. He had the right materials…like wood,  drywall, and nails… but he was missing crucial tools like a measuring tape, and a plumb bob to make sure his measurments were aligned. Yet he didn’t care, he figured his so-called superior vision could  eye everything out and make right judgements based on apperances. So off he went, a cut here, and a cut there, a nail here, and a nail there, finally he was done… but it was a hot mess. The wall was seriously crooked!

The Bible says the heart is decietful, who can understand it? I’m sorely against ” Follow your heart” But ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart. and lean not to your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5). It takes humility to realize God’s word,  and to realize we aren’t God.  I think that’s a very healthy to be humble, and always check back with God to make sure things are straight.

When we measure oursleves up to Christ, who being the very nature of God did not consider his position to be used for his own advantage, but washed his disciples feet, and became a slave for our salvation…we then uderstand there is no room for  self-inflated egos. When we gain power or position it is to serve, and glorify God.

Only by walking close to God’s standard can we be upright or Plumb. No one is righteous except God, and his chosen son Jesus. Let us live our lives according to His standard , he is our ruler, and the way we know we’re living upright towards God.

The road to redemption starts with repentance. We would all like to think that we’re good or ” holier than thou”  but the truth is…. without God sending Christ to pay for our sin debt, we all deserve death, and we all are morally bankrupt without Christ.
