When you go to Taco Bell do you expect them to serve a big mac? Or when you go to McDonald’s do you expect people to sell you a whopper? NO, people go to these place because they know what they’re getting, and they want it to be as fresh as the first time they ate it. I compare this to your brand.

Some startups think they have to continually change the heart of the brand or company when what they have is already good. This is what the serpent did to Adam and Eve when God had made everything “very good”. So beware of snakes who try to tell you that you’re missing out on something. Don’t change your identity based on the whims of society, but first, know who you are serving, and seek to please the one who got you there in the first place.

Einstein said if you keep doing the same thing and expect different results you are insane. This can be a positive because if you are getting the results you need, why would you change them?

I write this because it’s a struggle I have, and a struggle I see in many entrepreneurs who start something and never finish because they’re changing up too many things, instead of saying hey “ I’m an IN-N -OUT and I sell really good burgers”. So to be successful, know who you are, who you serve, and serve well. Stay true to your identity.
